Torchlight Frontiers Becomes Torchlight III

Torchlight fans just received some huge news – Torchlight Frontiers has become Torchlight III, reverting to the classic model with linear progression. This Diablo-esque hack-and-slash dungeon-crawling RPG series has kept fans entranced since it debuted in 2009. Fans have been waiting for a new installment since 2012, and that wait will soon be over.

Last year, Echtra Games founder Max Schaefer announced that Torchlight Frontiers, which was to be a free-to-play addition to the series, would be delayed into 2020 because it needed more time. Torchlight Frontiers was to take place in a “shared, persistent, and dynamically generated world” with 60-80 hours of content. This makes it a much larger game than either of the previous iterations of Torchlight...

Ghost of Tsushima Release

The highly anticipated PlayStation exclusive Ghost of Tsushima will release in the Summer of 2020. Fans around the world have been wondering when the big-budget samurai slasher would finally get a release date, with many speculating that the game would release in the second half of 2020. But now developer Sucker Punch has confirmed the release window for Ghost of Tsushima will be Summer 2020.

Sucker Punch is one of the most admired developers in the gaming industry, and perhaps best known for creating the Sly Cooper and Infamous series of games. In 2011, Sony purchased Sucker Punch to produce games exclusively for PlayStation. Sucker Punch has always worked within short development windows, with the longest period in between releasing games being four years...

Modern Warfare Spec Ops

Reports are surfacing which indicate Call of Duty: Modern Warfare’s Special Operations mode is missing features previously promised to players. This news comes shortly after the game’s developer, Infinity Ward, had to shut down comments on their video explaining how Call of Duty: Modern Warfare’s netcode works due to harsh fan criticism, as well as recent reports of review bombings from Russian players unhappy with the way the game portrays them as villains.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare’s single-player campaign has been received well by both players and the majority of critics, but the choice to keep the game’s much-loved additional Spec-Ops missions a PlayStation 4 exclusive for a year following the game’s release was heavily derided by longtime series fans...

Bully 2 Rockstar Cancelled The Game

A sequel to the open-world game Bully was apparently in the works but scrapped after over a year of development. Developed by Rockstar Games, who recently announced a PC version of Red Dead Redemption 2, the original Bully saw players taking on the role of a young man named Jimmy as he explored the fictional Bullworth Academy, a boarding school in England, while making friends and enemies with jocks, nerds, and homeless karate teachers.

While not as great a success as Rockstar’s more popular franchises like Grand Theft Auto, Bully developed a cult following over the next few years and even received a special edition titled Bully: Scholarship Edition. Although recent GTA Online rumors have hinted that a sequel to Bully might be under development, unfortunately reports have now surface...

Dead by Daylight Gets Stranger

The residents of Hawkins, Indiana will once again have to face off against a supernatural predator when Dead by Daylight launches its upcoming Stranger Things crossover, announced today. Stranger Things has already had a video game adaptation, based on its third season, but the Dead by Daylight update will let players get up close and personal with the Demogorgon, the terrifying antagonist of the hit show’s first season.

Released in 2016, Dead by Daylight is an asymmetric survival horror game that pits a team of players controlling human survivors against a single player in the role of a killer with much more powerful abilities. Not including the Demogorgon, the game currently has 16 killers, each with its own unique set of powers...

LEGO’s The Skywalker Saga

LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga isn’t a re-release with more content; it’s not even a remaster. Instead, LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga is an entirely new game that has been redesigned from the ground-up to give players the ultimate Star Wars experience in LEGO form. This has been accomplished through the use of an all-new game engine, the implementation of an open world sandbox, and a total revamp of the combat system, among many other things.

What makes next year’s LEGO Star Wars game a hugely anticipated title amongst gamers is that it’s a culmination of the entire Skywalker saga – all three Star Wars trilogies, so that means Rogue One: A Star Wars Story and Solo: A Star Wars Story aren’t included – and the gameplay has been modernized in order to fit within other 2019 and 2020 v...

New PlayStation State Of Play

Sony has announced the date for its next State of Play address, which will feature announcements for upcoming PlayStation games, but won’t include any information about the PlayStation 5. State of Play is Sony’s answer to the Nintendo Direct, as it’s a livestream that features announcements and reveal trailers for games appearing on the PlayStation platform.

Sony held its first State of Play on March 25, where it was met with such a tepid response that it caused “Nintendo Direct” to start trending on Twitter. The original State of Play didn’t have many announcements and certainly didn’t generate the kind of press that a Nintendo Direct creates, but it was Sony’s first attempt at a Direct-style presentation and the company is still trying to nail the formula down.
