The Netflix Phenomena

The Netflix Phenomena

For years now Netflix has been providing a service like no other. They are the pioneers of the Internet movie renting era. They are the ones that started the entire concept of renting your movies online for less and for millions of people this has meant affordable and convenient renting schedules unlike those of Blockbuster and other old fashioned movie stores.
The days of driving like crazy to the rental store just to get that new release are long gone and it is primarily thanks to the service that Netflix provides. It is ingenious really. You are able to rent many more movies for less than you have paid in the past. In fact, there is no limit to the number of movies that you can rent from this particular service...

My Favorite Movies Journal

My Favorite Movies Journal

The movies–what a wonderful way to spend an afternoon! I love going to the movies. When I thought about why I look forward to going to a movie, I realized it was like meditation for me. The only thing that was on my mind was what was in front of me on the screen. I am in the moment when I am at a movie.
Remember the movie “Harold and Maude”? Although this was decades ago, I remember it well. I started to cry during the movie and did not stop until late that night. This movie brought up so many feelings for me. I identified with Harold. I identified with Maude. I identified with what made each of them different from most people, yet so similar to each other.
Movies are a wonderful vehicle from which we can learn and feel...

What Happened to Superman

What happened to Superman‘s son, Jonathan Kent, in the comics? The Arrowverse is preparing to take Tyler Hoechlin’s Man of Steel in a direction that’s never been seen before on either the big or small screen. Supergirl season 4 saw Superman and his partner Lois Lane head to the Kryptonian city of Kandor, with Lois pregnant with a half-Kryptonian child. Now reports claim a TV show centered upon Superman and Lois Lane is on its way.

It’s expected to focus on the couple’s lives as new parents, with the logline saying that it will follow “the world’s most famous Super Hero and comic books’ most famous journalist” as they “deal with all the stress, pressures and complexities that come with being working parents in today’s society.”

Dvd Rental Company To Avoid

Intelliflix – The Online Dvd Rental Company To Avoid

I remember when signing up with Intelliflix for $188 a year thinking what a great deal I just gotten, and how much money I was saving compared to the competition. Intelliflix claims to have over sixty thousand movie titles, rent video games, and also rent adult titles. I sincerely doubt that they have anywhere close to sixty thousand movie titles, and they have recently suspended their online game rentals. They still claim to rent other movie titles, but a couple of movies every few months, and it hardly seems like they even do that anymore.

For the first couple of months I received movies regularly, but then they stopped sending me movies...

Excalibur’s Invader Has Been Coming

Warning: SPOILERS for Excalibur #1

The X-Men‘s new mutant nation was invaded by a mystical force in Excalibur #1 – and it could be a very familiar foe. Jonathan Hickman’s X-Men relaunch has seen the X-Men establish a mutant nation on the living island of Krakoa. And it hasn’t taken long for Krakoa to come under attack.

To the X-Men’s surprise, the first invader appears to be a mystical force originating from a realm called Otherworld. A mysterious portal has opened between Otherworld and Krakoa, and Apocalypse persuaded Rogue to attempt to drain power from it. Too late, the X-Men realized that there was some sort of entity inside the portal, a mystical being that was seeking a host. It’s left Rogue comatose, her body apparently transmutating. Disturbingly, Excalibur #1 subtly hints th...

Reinvent A Christmas Carol

Disney is getting ready to take on A Christmas Carol (again). The studio has partnered with director Bill Condon to reimagine the Charles Dickens holiday tale for a new generation. This iteration will be titled Marley and will offer a new perspective on the source material, as opposed to the familiar Ebeneezer Scrooge being visited by several ghosts in the night, transforming his worldview.

According to a new report, Bill Condon has already penned the script for Marley and is set to direct. The story will center on Jacob Marley, Ebeneezer Scrooge’s departed business partner. In the original story, Marley‘s ghost, who is decked out in heavy chains and suffers endless torment, pays a visit to Scrooge and warns him of the ghosts that will be visiting him that night...
